Closing date:

Sales and Customer Services Administrator

Full-time, 25 days holiday + bank holidays

Salary range: £22,000.00 to £25,000.00 per annum

Based at our Head Office in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire

Our client is a highly successful provider of 11+ tuition and mock exams in South-East England. With directly managed and franchised tuition centres based in Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Hertfordshire and London, each year SDE helps thousands of children prepare for the 11+ tests. The brand is underpinned by the leading series of Verbal Reasoning Technique and Practice books and test papers written by the author, Susan Daughtrey M.Ed.

They are looking for an experienced Sales and Customer Services Administrator to join a small, friendly and growing team at their Head Office in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire.  Working hours are Monday – Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm (they will consider applications from candidates seeking to work alternative hours).

About the Job:

The Customer Services Administrator role involves both Sales (handling new customer enquiries) and Customer Services (attending to the requirements of existing customers).  As such, a typical working day in this role will usually be determined by the calls, emails and online enquiry notifications you receive from new and existing customers.  Due to the nature of the services our client supplies (structured educational courses for 9 and 10 year old children) and the needs of each student (and parent) tending to be unique, the role is varied and interesting, with no two days being exactly alike.

This Customer Services Administrator role includes the following responsibilities:

  • Dealing with new client enquiries and sending out course details;
  • Logging all new client enquiries and updating the log;
  • Following up new client enquiries by telephone and email;
  • Calculating pro-rata fees and instalments for late joiners;
  • Handling existing client queries;
  • Managing class registers;
  • Co-ordinating with SDE tutors and other staff;
  • Assisting with the proof reading of newly authored works on an ad-hoc basis;
  • Where appropriate, delegating work to a junior administrative assistant and overseeing the satisfactory completion of the delegated work.

About You:

To prosper in this Administration and Customer Services role, you will be a team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude. You will be able to handle client calls with natural confidence and generate a rapport with those callers who are enquiring about our client’s services for the first time.  You will quickly learn what differentiates their services to those of its competitors and you will be happy to follow up new client enquiries by telephone by way of ensuring that every prospective customer has all the information they need before deciding whether to enrol their child on a Course.

You will handle all enquiries from existing customers taking a ‘customer lead approach’, always striving to provide the customer with the highest possible standard of service.  You will leave every customer you deal with feeling their enquiry was handled both competently and with care.

You will be a good communicator and enjoy interacting with tutors and other staff, keeping them abreast of student class changes and other operational administrative matters.

Experience working in a school office or similar would be ideal but is not essential. If you have knowledge of the 11+, in whatever form, this will be helpful, especially if you have experience of the process from a ‘parents’ point of view’.
