Sight Concern Worcestershire is a well-established organisation offering support to over 2000 people affected by sight loss around the county.  Their team of Advice & Support Officers play a vital role in ensuring that everyone who needs help can access it.

The Advice and Support Officer role will involve:

  • Providing information and advice to people affected by sight loss to enable them to make informed decisions
  • Short term support to assist people with sight loss to adapt and remain living in the community
  • Running a weekly peer support group to enable people with sight loss to learn new skills and develop confidence
  • Promoting the service to encourage individuals and agencies to refer people with sight loss to Sight Concerns services

Full specialist training specific to this role will be provided.

What sort of person are we looking for? 

We need a person who has a real passion for supporting people to make a real difference to their lives and who understands the ethos of the voluntary sector.

They should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be organised and able to prioritise their own workload. They should work well under their own initiative and be able to demonstrate empathy with people, generating an enabling response that promotes self-reliance and resilience.
