A new opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join a utility infrastructure and services consultancy company based in Daresbury, Cheshire.

The Project Manager will be responsible for site investigations, procurement of solutions and managing/coordinating the installation of utility infrastructure and services (gas, electric, water etc.) on new build and regeneration projects.

Project Manager Role

If you like to see a project through from concept to completion this is just that kind of role – you’ll be able to see a site changing from a plot of land to a new Retail Park, Logistics Hub, Office Block or Residential Apartment Block.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking site investigations and writing conceptual reports;
  • Input into the design brief and building specifications;
  • Procuring and managing service terminations;
  • Procuring and managing main infrastructure and service diversions;
  • Producing plans and drawings to enable pipe and cable designs to be produced;
  • Tendering for new infrastructure
  • Negotiating alternative solutions to deliver project savings;
  • Liaising with ICP’s and recommending suitable companies to undertake works;
  • Attending client design team and site progress meetings.

What you’ll need

  • It would be an advantage if you have experience of the utility industry and have worked in a similar utility/contracting environment;
  • A clear understanding of how utility networks operate;
  • An understanding of basic design principles;
  • Self-driven and ambitious;
  • Microsoft Office literate;
  • Able to write reports;
  • A degree in a related Engineering / Electrical sector would be helpful but not essential.
