Parkside is a 32-bed residential care home that has been operating in the London Borough of Havering since 1971. The home is owned by Romford Baptist Housing Association Ltd, which is a not for profit organisation.

The home works in partnership with Romford Baptist Church to create a Christian ethos for the residents and staff, most of whom are Christians. It is essential that the Deputy Manager upholds this philosophy and helps maintain a loving Christian environment.

Role Outline

As Deputy Manager your role will incorporate a range of responsibilities to assist the Care Manager with the smooth running of the home. This will include, but not be limited to:

  • Managing occupancy levels and maintaining up to date records, authorising staff holidays and assisting in organising staff meetings and training
  • Supervising duty rotas, arranging and being part of an on-call rota for out of hours and emergencies
  • Ensuring that medication is ordered and administered within policies and procedures, undertaking weekly audits
  • Ensuring that care is planned to meet the resident’s needs and that each individual’s dignity and personality is respected

Deputy Manager Essential Criteria

  • Ideally four years in Care industry, 2 years in a Senior Post.
  • IT literate
  • NVQ Level 4 or Diploma 5/ or willing to undertake appropriate training
  • Understanding and commitment to the Christian ethos, leadership, strong inter-personal and organisational skills, delivers well under pressure with a caring nature.
