Our client is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers and distributors of chemical products. Customers can be provided with specialised formulations from volumes as small as 10 litres to 30 metric tonnes using the in-house design and manufacturing teams based at their Manchester headquarters. The business turns over annually around £15M and employs 40 people.

A critical role within the business is that of an area sales manager. The area managers are allocated a territory within the UK where they service all customers within that region. Currently due to increasing demand the business is looking for an additional sales manager to cover the wider areas North, Midlands and South.


The area sales managers must be excellent organisers with first-class interpersonal and selling skills. They have overall responsibility for a territory of sales.
Typical clients include flooring manufacturers; construction businesses and specialist chemical providers and the work will require frequent travel between clients and different locations. Additional key responsibilities include giving technical advice and support, preparing quotes including narrative, reviewing margins and lead generation in addition to that provided by the in-house sales team.

About You

Area sales managers will preferably be degree educated and have experience in marketing, advertising or business and good mathematical skills. Experience within the chemical manufacturing and distribution industry would be preferred but a related qualification and a willingness to learn would also be considered.
