This is an immediate opportunity for an experienced Manager / Management Couple to take on the leading role in running this long established and privately owned 4-star country inn

Financially sound to weather the current pandemic and with a diary full of bookings from April onwards, this country inn offers high quality bed and breakfast accommodation and good restaurant / bar family dining. It is currently run as a partnership between the founding owner and senior staff members.

Situated in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, they have 40+ years of experience, an established administration and operational team, growing niche markets in large groups (Classic Car Tours and Walking Groups) and an existing and loyal customer base.

About the job

Utilising your sound management skills and catering industry experience, this role will require you to take on the day to day running of the business. You will be required to supervise, manage and train staff members whilst working alongside them, hands on, to continue to exceed customer expectations and build on the success of the business.

Other aspects of the position will include taking part in the strategic decision making as part of the management team, overseeing IT and assisting with the sales and marketing strategy, utilising social media (particularly facebook) to raise awareness and encourage further sales.

About You

This is a real opportunity to become a partner and develop your career as the owner seeks to phase in his retirement over a two to three year period.  Therefore, we are looking for a very specific individual / management couple and you must have the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience of working in a small but busy hotel in a hands-on way
  • Excellent customer service and staff communication skills
  • Good IT skills and experience of using social media as a promotional tool
  • High degree of business acumen and a strategic thinker
  • Ambition to take on the challenge of a partnership and eventually an overall management role
