Our client is a rapidly expanding company committed to providing safe and reliable access to medications across various healthcare settings. They work with NHS Trusts, Unscheduled Care, and Primary Care, primarily serving Community and Mental Health Trusts from their network of pharmacies and WDA-licensed premises in London, Gloucester, and the West Midlands.

As they establish a new site in Manchester, they are looking for experienced Accuracy Checking Technicians to join the team. This role is essential in upholding their commitment to accuracy, safety, and patient care.


About the Role:

As an Accuracy Checking Technician, you will be responsible for verifying the accuracy of medications prepared by pharmacy staff before they are dispatched to hospital sites. You will work closely with our pharmacy team to maintain efficient operations and support our commitment to excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct accuracy checks on medications dispensed by pharmacy staff, ensuring they match prescriptions and meet safety standards
  • Verify medication labels, quantities, and packaging for correctness before dispatch
  • Collaborate with pharmacists to resolve any discrepancies or issues during the checking process
  • Assist in preparing medication orders for delivery to hospital sites, ensuring all items are accurately prepared and documented
  • Maintain precise records of medication checks and deliveries in line with regulatory and organisational requirements
  • Support inventory management and stock control to ensure sufficient pharmaceutical supplies
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines, including proper handling and storage of medications

The Ideal Candidate:

You will be a dedicated, detail-oriented professional who is passionate about maintaining high standards of accuracy in medication dispensing. You will have:

  • Level 3 NVQ in Pharmacy Services or equivalent qualification
  • Certification as an Accuracy Checking Technician
  • Proven experience in a pharmacy setting with a focus on accuracy checking is highly desirable
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards in medication dispensing
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Familiarity with pharmacy software and systems is advantageous
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced setting
