  • 18 hours per week
  • Fixed term contract to 31st March 2027 (with potential extension subject to funding)
  • £12.21 or national minimum wage

Our client is a well-established grassroots charity with over 33 years of experience supporting BAME communities across Preston. PMF provides free, accessible and culturally sensitive services for individuals facing socio-economic, educational and health inequalities.

The Role

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Administrative Assistant to join our growing charity organisation. This role is ideal for someone looking to start or develop a career within a supportive office environment while contributing to impactful community work.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support across HR, finance and office operations
  • Assist with organising events, logistics, bookings and day-to-day coordination
  • Prepare documents, reports, presentations and maintain accurate filing systems
  • Support procurement, stock monitoring, ordering supplies and invoice processing
  • Manage front desk duties including calls, visitor greetings and appointment scheduling
  • Maintain compliance records such as DBS checks, safeguarding training and right-to-work documents
  • Support onboarding processes and ensure paperwork is completed and filed correctly
  • Assist with volunteer records, rotas, schedules and service continuity
  • Update the PMF website and support social media and marketing communications
  • Handle sensitive information confidentially in line with GDPR requirements

The ideal candidate

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable individual with strong organisational skills and a professional approach. You will enjoy working as part of a team while also being confident using your own initiative. About you:

  • Strong administration and organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage records, schedules and multiple priorities effectively
  • IT literacy including Microsoft Office and digital systems (as you will be updating our social media platforms and website)
  • Professional, discreet and able to handle confidential information
  • Willingness to support charity events, evening or weekend activities when required
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion
