The Role

As a Catering Assistant, you will be an integral part of the team, ensuring that pupils and staff receive high-quality meals in a clean and friendly environment. Your role will be varied, including food preparation, serving meals, and maintaining the dining area.

Key Responsibilities:

Basic preparation of food and beverages, including vegetable prep and snack assembly
Simple cooking tasks using prepared food
Organising and controlling food service points
Serving meals and snacks, including transported meals
Assisting in promoting meal services to pupils, staff, and visitors
Setting up and clearing the dining area, including tables, chairs, and serving points
General kitchen and dining room duties, including washing up and cleaning
Recording temperatures for health and safety compliance
Operating tills and maintaining related records

The Ideal Candidate:

Essential Criteria:

Physically fit to perform duties such as lifting, moving, and cleaning.
Ability to work independently and under supervision

Desirable Criteria:

Basic Food Hygiene qualification or equivalent.
Previous catering experience.
Knowledge of hygiene and health and safety procedures.
