  • Permanent position (16 hours per week, term time only)

The Silver Robin Restaurant at Sullivan Upper School provides healthy, tasty meals to pupils and staff in both the secondary and preparatory departments. Set in 25 acres overlooking Belfast Lough, Sullivan Upper is a large, co-educational grammar school with a strong community ethos. The catering team prides itself on quality, efficiency and service, providing a welcoming environment for everyone on campus.

The Role

As a Catering Assistant, you’ll play a key part in the daily operation of the Silver Robin Restaurant, helping deliver a smooth, hygienic, and enjoyable service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve meals, snacks, and beverages to pupils and staff
  • Assist with basic cooking and food presentation
  • Set up and clear the dining area, including tables, chairs and serving points
  • Operate tills and maintain accurate records
  • Clean kitchen and dining areas to high hygiene standards
  • Promote the school meal service in a friendly, professional manner
  • Support team members to ensure efficient daily operations

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and flexible team player with a passion for great food and excellent service. About you:

  • Able to lift/move kitchen equipment
  • Able to work independently and under supervision
  • Works well under pressure
  • Clean, tidy and professional appearance
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Over 18 years of age

Desirable:

  • Basic Food Hygiene certificate (or equivalent)
  • Previous catering or hospitality experience
  • Knowledge of health, safety and hygiene procedures
