Group Fitness Coach / Personal Trainer

Location: Unit N7D, Tursdale Business Park, DH6 5PG.
Hours: Part-time or self-employed up to 16 hours per week.
Contract: Permanent.
Pay: Competitive salary.

They specialise in large group training and small group personal training, creating a supportive and motivating space where people of all fitness levels can push their limits and achieve success. You will coach upbeat, inclusive classes for up to 30 people and deliver small group PT classes, keeping everyone safe, seen, and progressing at the right level for them.

The Role
As a group fitness coach, you will inspire and support members to build confidence and achieve their goals.

You will create a positive class atmosphere, adapt movements for different abilities, and keep sessions flowing from warm-up to cool-down.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead large group training classes with up to 30 participants.
  • Deliver small group personal training with up to 10 clients per session.
  • Motivate, educate, and support clients throughout their fitness journey.
  • Adapt workouts to suit all abilities with clear regressions and progressions.
  • Give confident, compassionate form cues that protect safety and build confidence.
  • Maintain a fun, engaging and professional atmosphere at every session.
  • Set up before class and reset afterwards, including equipment checks and cleanliness.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are met at all times.
  • Support onboarding, attendance tracking and community events.


What You’ll Bring

  • A genuine passion for helping people, with empathy, energy and great people skills.
  • Experience coaching high-energy group sessions such as circuits, conditioning, HIIT or functional training.
  • A sharp coaching eye and confident communication on and off the mic.
  • Level 2 Gym Instructor certification as a minimum, with Level 3 Personal Trainer preferred.
  • Current First Aid and CPR, plus the right to work in the UK.
  • Reliability, a team mindset and a member-first attitude.


Nice To Have

  • Qualifications in kettlebells, Olympic lifting, yoga or mobility.
  • Experience running member challenges or creating short social content.
