Are you passionate about ensuring the safety of the buildings within your community? This role might be for you! We are looking for two Fire Safety Inspectors to join our dedicated Protection team.

Fire Safety Inspector
Various Locations within Nottinghamshire

  • 37 hours (Monday–Friday)
  • Fixed-term contract of 24 months
  • Career Graded Post: Grade 4 – 5 £30,559 - £36,124

The role of the Protection team is to direct its inspection and enforcement activities to premises that pose the greatest risk to life, property and the environment.

As a competent Fire Safety Inspector, you will form part of a team carrying out inspections within a wide range of premises to regulate and enforce statutory fire safety legislation, provide fire safety advice, and evaluate fire safety design submissions.

Key Responsibilities

  • To undertake inspections of non-complex and complex (depending on progression through the career grade) premises in accordance with fire safety legislation
  • Provide advice and guidance on fire safety and relevant legislation to business owners, internal staff, and the public
  • Prepare fire safety reports and liaise with other regulatory agencies

Experience/Qualification

  • Understanding of how to undertake inspections of premises and evaluate risk
  • Know how to use the MS Office suite of programmes (such as Word & Excel) and be able to write reports
  • Possess knowledge of Fire Safety Legislation
  • Be willing to undertake fire safety training
  • Demonstrate ethical and values driven behaviour
