GDP Technician & Delivery Driver (Combined Role)
Gloucester, GL1

Our client is a specialist healthcare logistics provider, focused on the safe storage, handling, and distribution of medicines to registered customers, including NHS hospitals. Operating from a GDP-compliant warehouse and distribution hub, they are committed to maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance, patient safety, and operational excellence.

About the role:

Based at the client's warehouse and distribution hub in Gloucester, this role combines warehouse‑based technician duties with local and regional delivery responsibilities, ensuring compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP), company standard operating procedures, and relevant transport legislation.

This role will require you to work some Saturdays on a rota basis.  

Key responsibilities:

  • Receive, check, and process incoming medicines and returns within the warehouse
  • Pick, pack, and prepare orders accurately for dispatch to healthcare customers
  • Carry out stock control activities, including expiry date checks and inventory management
  • Prepare delivery documentation and manifests ensuring full accuracy
  • Deliver medicines and ancillaries, including controlled drugs, to customers in line with GDP and SOP requirements
  • Plan and coordinate delivery routes to ensure timely and secure transportation
  • Maintain product integrity during transit, including temperature control and security
  • Complete delivery records, obtain signatures, and manage returned goods
  • Conduct vehicle safety checks and report defects or incidents
  • Support compliance by reporting errors, incidents, and customer feedback
  • Assist with stock control visits to healthcare sites across the region

Key skills and qualifications:

  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Willingness to undertake both warehouse and delivery duties (essential)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to regulatory compliance
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment
  • Confidence delivering to NHS hospital settings
  • Flexible approach to working hours and duties
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check
