Graphic Designer

Opus Business Media, a well-established B2B magazine publisher based in Macclesfield, is looking for an experienced Graphic Designer to join our team. If you have a degree (or equivalent qualification) in Graphic Design and a strong working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, we want to hear from you. An up-to-date portfolio is a must.

We’re seeking a candidate who is enthusiastic, collaborative, and a great team player. In this role, you’ll work closely with the editorial team to meet tight deadlines, ensuring magazine layouts align with our house style. Creativity is key, as you’ll also be designing ads for clients as part of our in-house design service, collaborating with them directly to meet their needs. As well as a passion for design, you’ll need excellent attention to detail.

Our office environment is informal and friendly with an open-plan layout and even a resident office dog, Murphy. Plus, we work a 4-day week, so you get every Friday off!

Key Responsibilities:

Preparing and uploading publications to digital platforms (training provided)
Creating and managing email campaigns (training provided)
Sourcing images to complement editorial content
Liaising with clients and the editorial team to ensure top-quality design work
Ensuring all print materials meet the highest standards, including exhibition stand designs, yearbooks, and other printed collateral

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Degree in Graphic Design (or equivalent), with relevant experience in a similar role
Expert knowledge of Adobe InDesign, along with proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe PDF
Strong understanding of composition, layout, and typography
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines
Strong communication skills, both in person and over the phone
Confidence working directly with clients and colleagues

Hours:

Monday to Thursday, 34 hours per week

Salary:

Up to £24,000 depending on experience
