IT Technician
Bradford, BD9 (operating across 19 sites)

  • Full time, 37 hours per week
  • Permanent (all year round)
  • NJC Scale 4 points 7 to 11 £24,294 - £25,979 (pay award pending)

Our extensive IT infrastructure includes over 1,800 workstations, multiple servers, CCTV systems, telephony, networked printers, and a site-wide wireless system. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality IT and AV services to support teaching and learning, ensuring a seamless experience for both staff and students.


The Role

As an IT Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all IT and AV services within the Trust. You will work closely with the IT Services Delivery Manager to maintain our infrastructure, manage security, and provide technical support to staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and implementation of the Trust’s IT/AV Strategy
  • Maintain IT/AV service contracts and manage licenses
  • Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT/AV hardware and software
  • Ensure compliance with IT/AV budgets
  • Provide technical support to staff and assist apprentices
  • Maintain and develop the Trust’s websites and learning platforms
  • Operate and maintain CCTV, telephony, and access control systems
  • Administer Microsoft Office 365, Wi-Fi networks, and databases
  • Assist with IT/AV equipment inventory, purchasing, and stock checks
  • Support live events across the Trust, including setup and livestreaming

Our ideal candidate:

We’re looking for someone who can provide excellent support and maintain a positive attitude in a dynamic environment. Essential skills:

  • Qualified to NQF Level 3 or equivalent experience
  • GCSEs or equivalent in English and Mathematics
  • Knowledge of Windows-based clients, IT/AV hardware, and software troubleshooting
  • Experience in maintaining and supporting networks and security systems
  • Familiarity with MDM systems, including Microsoft Intune
  • Ability to provide clear, fluent communication and explain technical concepts simply
  • First Aid qualification or willingness to obtain one

Desirable skills:

  • IT qualifications such as GNVQ or Microsoft certifications
  • Experience working in an educational IT environment
  • Advanced knowledge of networking equipment and configurations
  • Knowledge of AV systems and livestreaming
