Junior Accountant
Manchester, M2

  • Full time, 40 hours per week

The Role

We’re seeking a Junior Accountant who is passionate about numbers and eager to develop their skills in an accounting practice environment. Working closely with our finance team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the financial health of our organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing revenue streams, invoicing, and accrued revenue postings
  • Performing credit control functions.
  • Maintaining expenditure records and coding invoices accurately.
  • Posting payments and receipts, organising, and filing invoices.
  • Assisting the team with month-end processes.
  • Performing account and bank reconciliations.
  • Supporting the preparation of year-end accounts and quarterly VAT returns.
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A desire to complete ACCA/ACA/CIMA or a similar qualification
  • Some experience or knowledge gained within an accountancy practice
  • A keen attitude for learning and growing your expertise
  • A positive, team-oriented mindset
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
  • Good presentation and communication skills
  • Intermediate/Advanced level Microsoft Office skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a pragmatic mindset
  • Confidence in verbal communication across all levels
  • A self-motivated, dynamic approach to work
  • A collaborative spirit, building strong internal and external relationships
  • A natural tendency to challenge the status quo and find innovative solutions
