The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring that all students, particularly those with SEND or additional learning needs, have full access to the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide support to pupils, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
Assist with developing and implementing Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care Programmes.
Work with students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to provide targeted learning support.
Encourage students to engage with learning and classroom activities.
Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers.
Support students with barriers to learning, including social, emotional, or behavioural difficulties.
Assist in lesson planning and resource preparation for SEND students.
Promote positive behaviour and manage classroom incidents effectively.
Supervise pupils during break/lunch times and support out-of-school activities.
Undertake administrative tasks such as photocopying or exam support (e.g., reading/scribing).
Participate in first aid training and provide first aid support if required.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who is committed to supporting students' education and well-being. About you:

GCSE English and Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
Good numeracy, literacy, and IT skills (Microsoft Office).
Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with children and adults.
Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently.
Organised, proactive, and able to manage workload effectively.
Awareness of child protection and safeguarding practices.
Commitment to upholding the school’s values and inclusive ethos.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications:

Teaching Assistant Level 1/2/3 qualification.
First Aid certificate or willingness to train.
Knowledge of school systems and SEND support strategies.
Experience working with students with learning difficulties or disabilities.
