The Role

As a Maintenance Assistant and Mini Bus Driver, you will be integral to the smooth running of our school sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and respond to maintenance requests, performing minor repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry)
  • Replace lighting, paint, and decorate; ensure drains and gutters are clear
  • Test emergency lighting and alarms, reporting defects
  • Maintain school grounds, ensuring a tidy and safe environment
  • Move furniture and equipment for school events; assist with deliveries
  • Maintain and prepare sports facilities (e.g., marking pitches)
  • Transport pupils and staff between sites and maintain minibuses (if licensed)
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, reporting hazards and promoting safe practices

About you:

Our ideal candidate will be a reliable and professional team player with a hands-on approach to work. You will have:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Full clean driving licence (D1/PSV licence desirable or willingness to train)
  • Skilled in DIY, plumbing, and minor electrical work
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations (e.g., COSHH, fire safety)
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and adapt under pressure
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Committed to the safeguarding and welfare of children
