Network Readiness Engineer
Bath, BA2

  • Full time, permanent (40 hours per week)
  • £30,000 - £34,000 per annum, DOE

The Role

We’re on the lookout for a skilled Network Readiness Engineer to join our growing team. In this vital role, you'll prepare properties for fibre broadband installation and ensure our high-speed network is ready to go before the installation date.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare residential and commercial properties for fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) installation
  • Conduct underground works, including slot trenching and managing Openreach ducting
  • Carry out overhead fibre feeds from Truespeed or Openreach poles
  • Leave fibre coiled safely at the property, ensuring Openreach and Truespeed standards are met
  • Identify and escalate blockages, civils work needs, or tree obstructions
  • Support the installation team and broader field teams as required
  • Perform rod and rope, subducting, and cable pulling duties
  • Maintain all tools, equipment, and vehicles in working order
  • Use the correct equipment for each task and complete all necessary digital forms
  • Communicate effectively and manage customer expectations onsite

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for a driven, proactive, and hands-on team player with a passion for quality and customer care. About you:

  • Practical experience with fibre installations (essential)
  • Familiar with Openreach UG/OH specs, including Sign, Lighting & Guarding
  • MEWP-certified and TETRA-qualified
  • Basic understanding of civils works and fibre routing
  • Confident working at height and with tools/equipment
  • IT literate, with the ability to complete digital forms
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Excellent communicator and team player
