St Bede’s and St Joseph’s Catholic College are seeking a Full-Time Receptionist to provide efficient administrative services to the College, including, reception, telephony, word processing and reprographic services.

The Receptionist Role:

You will assist in the provision of efficient administrative services to the College, including, reception, telephony, word processing and reprographic services, working to strict time schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide an external/internal reception/telephony service to the College
  • Operate relevant telephone and other equipment/ICT packages (e.g. word, excel, databases, spread sheets, Internet)
  • Assist with the receipt and distribution of deliveries
  • Maintain stock and supplies, cataloguing and distributing as required
  • To assist with the receipt and distribution of external, internal, and outgoing mail
  • To make contact with parents as requested
  • Photocopying for teaching and support staff
  • Maintenance records of resources used by department
  • Contacting Photocopying engineers in the case of service or maintenance of photocopier being required
  • Laminating, and binding of documents as required
  • Stocktaking and reordering of copier paper, card and any other reprographics materials
  • Provide general advice and guidance to staff, students, parents, visitors and others
  • To undertake first aid training and be a designated First Aider of the College

Please note: You will be expected to comply with any reasonable request from a manager/Headteacher to undertake work of a similar level and to support your team by undertaking duties of all the team to a similar level to your role.

St Bede’s and St Joseph’s Catholic College is a two-site College – role holder should be aware that you may be asked to work on either site.


Requirements:

The successful applicant will have previous experience of an admin/clerical role, preferably working within a school or customer service environment.

You will also meet the following:

  • GCSEs at Grade C or above in Maths and English
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Proficient Internet skills
  • Advanced English fluency
  • Previous clerical/admin experience
  • Reprographics experience
  • First Aid Qualification or readiness to obtain one
  • Active engagement in College's Catholic life
  • Effective telephone communication
  • Commitment to policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated flexibility, initiative, emotional intelligence, and integrity
  • Clear background check and UK work eligibility
  • Availability for flexible hours
