Kemps Publishing Ltd is a well-established and respected media company seeking an experienced Sales Training Manager to join our close-knit team and lead our company recruitment and training efforts.

Sales Training Manager
Solihull, B91 3DA - Solihull town centre, new modern offices (free parking on-site)

  • Full time (Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm)
  • Base salary: £33,000 - £35,000 dependent on experience
  • Bonus scheme (realistic OTE £50,000+)
  • 25 days’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays (guaranteed Christmas break)

Details of the Role:

As the Sales Training Manager, you will be responsible for devising and implementing a comprehensive recruitment and training strategy that aligns with our business objectives to grow the sales department. Your primary focus will be attracting sales candidates into the business, delivering their training needs and developing all staff under your care to ensure they excel in their roles.

By overseeing this activity, you will play a vital role in driving sales growth and ensuring the achievement of our business goals.


  • Implement recruitment strategy to identify and attract sales candidates into the business.
  • Evaluate the company’s existing training program, and update as necessary.
  • Conduct effective and engaging induction courses. 
  • Devise and deploy group and tailored individual training programs post-induction course.
  • Provide opportunities for ongoing development through a wide variety of sales training methods.
  • Introduce personal development plans that address needs and expectations.
  • Conduct regular training appraisals to assess and challenge staff to progress.
  • Monitor and evaluate recruitment and training program’s effectiveness, success and ROI periodically and report on them.
  • Report into the Sales Manager and Directors on a regular basis regarding strategy, objectives and progress.
  • Maintain a keen understanding of latest training trends, developments and best practices.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven background in sales recruitment, training and development (preferably at least two years within the media or publishing industry).
  • Formal qualifications in Training & Development, or a related field
  • Demonstrable experience in designing and delivering effective sales training programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with trainees and staff at all levels.
  • Strong organisational and written skills, with keen attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
