Repair Gas Engineer
Macclesfield, Cheshire – Field-based role

  • Full time, permanent
  • Up to £45,000 per year, depending on experience

The Role
As a Repair Gas Engineer, you’ll be responsible for carrying out repairs, servicing, and maintenance on a wide range of gas appliances and systems. Working directly with customers, you’ll combine technical expertise with excellent communication skills to deliver safe, efficient, and compliant solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct repairs, maintenance, and servicing of gas appliances and systems in residential settings
  • Diagnose and resolve faults efficiently, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions
  • Carry out safety checks, inspections, and compliance testing in line with industry standards
  • Provide excellent customer service and clear explanations of repair procedures and safety advice
  • Maintain detailed service records, including materials used and time spent on each job
  • Collaborate with supervisors and colleagues to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks
  • Adhere to all health and safety requirements and company procedures
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest regulations, products, and best practices in gas engineering

The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for a qualified, reliable, and motivated professional who takes pride in their technical ability and customer care. You’ll thrive in a hands-on role where every day brings a new challenge.

  • Gas Safe registered with relevant qualifications (ACS, CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1)
  • Proven experience in repairing and maintaining gas appliances (boilers, heating systems, cookers)
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Sound understanding of gas safety regulations and compliance requirements
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills
  • Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel locally
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work efficiently under pressure
  • GCSE or equivalent education (preferred)
  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience in gas engineering (required)
