The Role

Thanks to our innovative products and great team – we are proud that the business is continuing to grow, we now have an opportunity for a Senior Research and Development Chemist to join our professional team based in Rochdale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new products for use in the functional coatings market that are aligned with the company strategy
  • Developing and maintaining application testing protocols; maintenance and SOP development of equipment (e.g. printers)
  • Daily tasks in the laboratory as required
  • Developing a full understanding of printheads and formulation effects to improve primer performance in the target application
  • Product Development
  • Working on the formulation and research of new and existing products
  • Application of own scientific knowledge in problem-solving situations
  • Provide updates on project progress, including regular communication with project management and stakeholders
  • Technical Support including travelling to trials on occasion
  • Product Compliance
  • Safety Commitment

Qualifications / Experience

  • Proven track record in successful delivery of projects 
  • Fundamental understanding of formulating principles behind inks and coatings ideally inkjet and other digital applications
  • Knowledge of printing and application technology
  • Degree in Chemistry/Physics or related discipline
