NJC scale 3 point 5 to 6 - £19,904 to £20,596 (pay award pending)

The Role

As a Science Technician, you'll be assisting in the preparation and smooth running of practical science lessons, supporting both teachers and students.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare solutions, materials, and cultures for practical lessons
Assemble apparatus for experiments
Conduct risk assessments for technical activities
Assist teachers during practical classes
Maintain stock levels and identify future requirements
Organise and deliver resources to classrooms
Ensure the safe disposal of waste materials
Carry out routine maintenance and cleaning of laboratory equipment
Care for living organisms and plants used in experiments
Provide first aid and attend appropriate training

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for someone positive and helpful, with strong organisational skills. You should be a team player who can adapt to changing situations and solve problems quickly. You will have:

Technical qualifications or equivalent experience
GCSE English and Maths (Grade C or above)
Computer literacy
Willingness to undertake First Aid training
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual community
