We are seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor to join our team and play a leading role in maintaining and promoting a positive health and safety culture across the business. You will work closely with the company’s management and people, including contractors, to promote and support the safe delivery of our network and services.

The Role

Based in Colchester, you’ll travel regularly across East Anglia and all areas where our network is present, working closely with internal teams and contractors to ensure the highest health and safety standards across all of our engineering sites and office locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively promote a safety culture
  • Provide expert guidance on H&S legislation and best practice
  • Deputise for the Head of Health & Safety when required
  • Manage and support other H&S Advisors when required
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections
  • Develop and improve internal policies, procedures, and RAMS
  • Deliver training and promote a strong safety-first culture
  • Contribute to ISO 45001 management system implementation
  • Lead on incident investigations and drive continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with all department leads and people

What You’ll Need:

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or working towards it)
  • Minimum of TechIOSH
  • NRSWA certification
  • Full UK driving licence (travel essential)
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Strong knowledge of risk assessment & current HSE legislation
  • Able to work independently and as part of a wider team
