South East England

Full Time, Permanent

  • £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, company pension, early finish on Fridays, company vehicle.

About the Service Engineer Role

We are seeking an experienced Service Engineer to join our client's growing team. This is a field-based role where you will be responsible for installing, servicing, maintaining, and repairing lifting equipment at customer sites, ensuring all equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently. You will also provide expert technical support to customers while delivering an outstanding level of service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
  • Carry out repairs efficiently to minimise equipment downtime.
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance and routine servicing.
  • Install, test, commission, and integrate new lifting equipment at customer sites.
  • Train customers on the safe and effective operation of equipment.
  • Provide technical support both on-site and over the phone.
  • Complete accurate service reports and maintain detailed maintenance records.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and ensure service documentation is kept up to date.
  • Participate in a mandatory out-of-hours call-out rota.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations and company standards.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Relevant engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, BTEC, City & Guilds, or a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of four years' hands-on experience in a service engineering or maintenance role.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
  • Experience using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage your workload.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to participate in a mandatory out-of-hours call-out rota.
