Specialist Home Safety Operative
Beeston, Nottingham, NG9 2GQ

  • 30 hours per week, Monday – Friday
  • Fixed term (12 months)
  • Salary: £26,409 – £28,163 per annum (pro rata)

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) is looking for a dedicated individual to undertake the role of a Specialist Home Safety Operative. This vital role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to make a significant impact in our community by providing Safe & Well visits, giving fire safety advice as well as other duties which help to ensure we keep our community safe. Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake Safe & Well visits and make referrals to other organisations
  • Provide clear and coherent safety advice
  • Use databases to research and check information
  • Install and fit safety equipment such as smoke alarms and other safety adaptations
  • Liaise with the Prevention department and other key services to help vulnerable people

Experience/Qualification

  • Experience working and communicating with the public and partner organisations
  • Have the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Understand how to maintain records and deliver accurate written and verbal reports/ presentations
  • Experience in using tools and fitting equipment to a high standard in households
  • Have knowledge of the key issues that face vulnerable communities and possess a working understanding of health and safety
  • Have a full UK driving license and be willing to travel around Nottinghamshire
