About the Role:
We are looking for a proactive and reliable Stores Operative / Van Driver to join our warehouse team in Newcastle-under-Lyme. This is a key operational role responsible for maintaining accurate stock levels, ensuring smooth requisition fulfilment, and delivering flooring materials and consumables to construction sites across the UK. You’ll also be tasked with clearing and returning redundant materials post-project.

Key responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate inventory and stock levels
• Conduct stock checks and manage discrepancies
• Receive, organise, and securely store deliveries
• Pick and dispatch requisitions efficiently and accurately
• Keep the warehouse clean, safe, and organised
• Load vans with flooring materials and equipment
• Deliver and collect materials from sites and suppliers
• Manage returns, updating stock records
• Perform Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)
• Follow all health and safety procedures

The Ideal Candidate:
We’re seeking an enthusiastic and safety-conscious individual with previous experience in a stores/warehouse or driving role. You’ll be comfortable handling stock, liaising with internal teams, and working to tight deadlines.

You will have:

• A full, clean UK driving licence
• Experience in a stores, warehouse or delivery environment
• Strong understanding of stock control processes
• Ability to lift heavy materials safely
• Good organisational and time-management skills
• A methodical, detail-focused approach
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Portable Appliance Testing certification (desirable)
• Manual handling training (desirable)
• Experience driving transit or long wheelbase vans
