The school provides personalised support for up to 25 mainstream students, ensuring individual growth and development. With so many local amenities, they endeavour to be able to secure links for work experience, or voluntary work.


About the TA Role:

With small class sizes and tailored support, the school empowers its students to excel academically, socially, and emotionally.

The Teaching Assistant will work under the direction and supervision of a HLTA / teacher to contribute to the planning, delivery and evaluation of learning activities for groups and individual students, in accordance with school policies and procedures.

Specified work may be delivered to groups or 1-1, without the presence of a teacher, on an ongoing basis as part of routine timetabling. A TA will also routinely undertake additional responsibilities such as: cover supervision; coaching and mentoring; and contributing to policy development.

Optional extra responsibilities (not affecting the grade):

  • Lead extracurricular activities with limited supervision
  • Attend SLT meetings to contribute to strategic development
  • Provide toileting support and assistance to students as needed *
  • Offer support to unwell students as required *

* (Note: These tasks are subject to negotiation, risk assessment, and appropriate training.)


About You:

You will be passionate about education and dedicated to making a positive impact. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Willingness to pursue further qualifications and training
  • Experience in planning, evaluating, and delivering learning activities
  • Previous work with children, youth, and families in educational settings
  • Comprehensive understanding of child protection, health, safety procedures, and policies
  • Familiarity with educational frameworks, ICT for learning support
  • Proficient in curriculum implementation, child development, and SEND Code of Practice
  • Effective management of student behaviour, adherence to school policies
  • Consistent attendance, willingness to travel
