The Art Department, comprised of experienced teachers and dedicated staff, places a high value on the creative aspects of the curriculum, offering students opportunities in Art, Design, and Moving Image Arts at Key Stage 3, GCSE, and A Level.

The Role

As a Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the Art Department by ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of facilities and resources.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide and maintain equipment and supplies for the Art Department
Support teachers by setting up and clearing away equipment
Ensure all art and moving image equipment is stored securely and in working condition
Assist students with technical processes such as editing and file management
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of teaching areas and storage spaces
Support the preparation of exhibitions and events

The Ideal Candidate:

They are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a genuine interest in working with young people and a strong background in art and design. The ideal candidate will possess the following:

Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade A*-C, including English, Maths, and Art & Design/Moving Image Arts or related subject
Experience with ICT, particularly Apple Mac computers and Adobe Creative Suite
Strong organisational and planning skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently
