The Art Department, comprised of experienced teachers and dedicated staff, places a high value on the creative aspects of the curriculum, offering students opportunities in Art, Design, and Moving Image Arts at Key Stage 3, GCSE, and A Level.


The Role

As a Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the Art Department by ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of facilities and resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide and maintain equipment and supplies for the Art Department
  • Support teachers by setting up and clearing away equipment
  • Ensure all art and moving image equipment is stored securely and in working condition
  • Assist students with technical processes such as editing and file management
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of teaching areas and storage spaces
  • Support the preparation of exhibitions and events

The Ideal Candidate:

They are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a genuine interest in working with young people and a strong background in art and design. The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade A*-C, including English, Maths, and Art & Design/Moving Image Arts or related subject 
  • Experience with ICT, particularly Apple Mac computers and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently
