UI UX Designer
Nottingham (Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days home)

Full-time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week)
Up to £45,000 per annum DoE

Key Responsibilities

Design and prototype user-centric interfaces for web and mobile applications using Figma.
Collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to define and refine user journeys.
Conduct user research and usability testing to gain deep insights into user needs and behaviours.
Translate complex requirements into elegant, intuitive, and accessible design solutions.
Create wireframes, mock-ups, and interactive prototypes to communicate design ideas effectively.
Design marketing websites and landing pages that are visually engaging and conversion optimised.
Apply sound design principles, including hierarchy, contrast, consistency, and accessibility.
Ask thoughtful, strategic questions to uncover user needs and business goals.
Continuously iterate on designs based on feedback, analytics, and evolving user needs.

Required Skills & Experience

Proven experience designing for both software applications and marketing websites.
Strong proficiency in Figma, including component libraries, auto-layout, and prototyping.
Solid understanding of UX research methods, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing.
Ability to balance creativity with usability and business objectives.
Familiarity with responsive design, accessibility standards, and design systems.
Excellent communication skills – able to present and justify design decisions clearly.
Experience working in cross-functional teams in an agile environment.

Desirable Skills

Awareness of front-end technologies (HTML/CSS/JS) and tools like Hotjar or Google Analytics to support collaboration with developers and inform design decisions.
Familiarity with SEO and CRO to support data-driven design decisions.
Advanced Figma skills including scalable design systems, interactive prototypes, and collaboration features.
Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG), atomic design principles, and inclusive design practices.
Ability to organise intuitive user flows, create personas and journey maps, and present design concepts aligned with business goals.
